Professional Summary

Sheldon Pinx dedicated 51 years to representing private citizens, corporations, and law enforcement officials before every level of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. In recognition of his remarkable achievements, he was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1991.

Throughout his career, Mr. Pinx earned a national reputation for his excellence and expertise in the defence of all criminal charges. He specialized in the application of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms to these offences and successfully defended cases at both the trial and appeal court levels across multiple provinces in Canada.

Through his expert representation of clients, Mr. Pinx contributed to a body of precedent-setting decisions that led to numerous acquittals.

Mr. Pinx also lectured extensively to defence counsel, crown counsel, and judges at legal conferences and provincial legal education programs throughout the country. He made significant contributions to the legal profession through his memberships and leadership roles, including serving as President of the Manitoba Bar Association and Chairperson of the Criminal Justice Section of the Canadian Bar Association.

In September 2014, the Manitoba Defence Lawyers Association honoured Mr. Pinx with the Award of Merit, recognizing his 42 years of excellence in the defence of criminal cases.
