Sheldon Pinx has spent the last 42 years representing private citizens, corporations, and law enforcement officials before every level of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. In recognition of his achievements, he was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1991.
As a result of the large number of successes he has seen throughout his career, Mr. Pinx has earned a national reputation for his excellence and expertise in the defence of all criminal charges. He specializes in the application of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms to these offences and continues to defend cases at both the trial and appeal court levels in numerous provinces across Canada.
Through the expert representation of his clients, Mr. Pinx has contributed a body of precedent-setting decisions which led to his clients’ acquittals.
Mr. Pinx has lectured extensively to defence counsel, crown counsel, and judges of all levels of court at legal conferences and provincial legal education programs throughout the country. Through his memberships and appointments as President and Chairman of a variety of both provincial and national associations and committees, including being a past president of the Manitoba Bar Association and a past chairperson of the Criminal Justice Section of the Canadian Bar Association, he’s made a continuing contribution to the legal profession in Canada.
In September 2014, the Manitoba Defence Lawyers Association honoured Mr. Pinx with the Award of Merit in recognition of his 42 years of excellence in the defence of criminal cases.
