Eric Wach was born and raised in Winnipeg. He commenced his studies at the University of Manitoba earning an Honours Degree in Political Studies with the distinction of graduating with First Class Honours. During his undergraduate studies he earned a number of academic accolades, including the Hogg Centennial Scholarship, the Introductory Political Studies Award for the highest class grade in first year Political Studies, the Senator Gildas Molgat Memorial Bursary for high academic standing in second year Political Studies, and the Maurice Chusid Memorial Bursary for High academic standing in the third year Political Studies.
Eric was also selected, competing among a group of applicants, to participate in the North American Peace and Conflict Resolution Exchange Program a the Univerisity of Louisville in 2004. This program was dynamic – he attended class at the University of Louisville, volunteered at the Coalition for the Homeless, and participated in Conflict Resolution training. While studying at the University of Louisville he played for the collegiate hockey team and maintained a straight A average. During his study his study of Law at the University of Manitoba he volunteered at the University of Manitoba Legal Aid Clinic and took courses specializing in criminal law.
Since his call to the Bar, Eric has acted as counsel on a wide range of criminal matters that have appeared before the Provincial Court, the Court of Queen’s Bench, and the Court of Appeal. He has successfully defended cases in Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan. Eric’s practice includes defending a breadth of criminal and quasi criminal matters including drug trafficking offences, impaired driving offences, crimes of violence, fraudulent activity, property crimes, and highway traffic offences. Eric has had the benefit of earning trial experience under the tutelage of Sheldon Pinx, Q.C. Eric considers it an honour to be able to appear in a Court of Law as an advocate and defend his clients to the full extent of the law.
